HPRSD BOOK CLUB 2024
Join us as we discuss fiction and non-fiction books that are set in Puerto Rico, about Puerto Rico or Puerto Ricans, or written by Puerto Rican authors.
Meetings are held on Zoom, usually on the third Tuesday of the month at 7pm. RSVP at hprsd@houseofpuertorico.com to receive the Zoom link.

The books are available at both the San Diego Public Library and San Diego County Library. If you are a member of HPRSD, you can check out a copy of the book from our library at the HPRSD Casita any weekend from 11am-4pm.
We always welcome new people to join us. You do not need to be a member of the House of Puerto Rico San Diego to attend the book club.

Proclamation: Puerto Rican Heritage Day
What an amazing event that we all had on Friday, May 19, 2023 at the House of Puerto Rico San Diego cottage in Balboa Park!
The City of San Diego the Proclamation award to make May 19, 2023 Puerto Rican Heritage Day from a representive from the San Diego's mayor's office and signed by Todd Gloria, Mayor.

That same day the San Diego Padres, in community partnership with the House of Puerto Rico San Diego had our inaugural Puerto Rican Heritage Celebration Theme Game. For the first time in history of HPRSD for any single event we also sold 400 Padres tickest for the Puerto Rican Heritage Celebration Theme Game. Puerto Rican pride was out in force cheering on the Padres!

Our Youth:
Supporting The Leaders of Tomorrow
There is no doubt - Our youth is our future! In a recent survey of HPRSD members, it was unanimous the sentiments that, as an organization, we should develop programs to foster the development of our youth within the context of our Puerto Rican heritage and customs.
The support from our members to get involved has been tremendous, including those that have children, grandchildren, kids in high school and college, or young adults starting their careers.
